Safe and secure messaging

Confidential health advice

ChatHealth is a risk-managed messaging helpline platform, providing a way for service users to easily and anonymously get in touch with a healthcare professional.

Incoming messages are delivered to a centrally managed inbox. Staff simply respond via the web-based application to send a message back to the service user.

“Young people can ‘park’ a question, even out-of-hours, knowing it will be responded to appropriately.” Staff feedback

Reach

more service users

Traditional ways to get help are often stigmatised and difficult to access.

Feedback shows young people feel more comfortable discussing sensitive issues via a messaging helpline, whilst busy parents value its convenience. In particular, it helps under-served and 'hard-to-reach' groups.

“We can provide advice in a really responsive way, to a much greater number of people, without impacting on other areas of our work.” Staff feedback

Earlier

interventions

Vulnerable service users are more likely to seek help sooner, preventing problems from escalating to more costly interventions.

Improved

staff efficiency

Teams can handle more contacts with the same resource, enabling one nurse to cover a population of 85,000.

Fully compliant

and rigorously tested

Compliant with information management standards and GDPR and examined by NHS Digital for listing on the NHS App library.
